An in-depth presentation on Probate presented by Chancellor Jeffrey Atherton and Clerk & Master Robin Miller.

Chancellor Jeffrey Atherton presides over Part 2 of the Eleventh Judicial District of Hamilton County. Prior to ascending to the bench, he was an attorney with a general civil legal practice. Atherton has trial experience in federal and state courts and appellate experience in the Tennessee Court of Appeals, the Tennessee Supreme Court and the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.  Atherton earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1987 and has been a licensed attorney in Tennessee since 1988. His professional memberships include the Chattanooga Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association.  Atherton has served as a TBA high school mock trial coach for more than 20 years, with his teams winning national championships in 2002, 2003 and 2007.  A community-minded citizen, Atherton has served as deacon and commander of the AWANA Youth Ministry of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chattanooga and as a ministry board member of the Tennessee Valley AWANA Ministry.  In recognition of his exemplary service, the CBA has awarded Atherton its Ralph H. Kelley Humanitarian Award. In addition, the Civil Air Patrol bestowed its Commander’s Award to Atherton.

Clerk & Master Robin Miller received her J.D. in 1992 from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has been a shareholder of Spears, Moore, Rebman & Williams, P.C. since January 2012. She had previously practiced at Gearhiser, Peters, Elliott & Cannon, PLLC, from June 1992 through January 2012. Robin is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association; the Chattanooga Bar Association, a CBA Past President; the American Bar Association and the Chattanooga Bar Foundation. She has also served on the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility, Former Hearing Panel Member for 6 year term and the Tennessee Justice Center, Former CBA Board Member.
