Bill Ramsey is a member of the firm of Neal and Harwell. The primary focus of Mr. Ramsey's professional practice is complex civil and criminal litigation. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with high honors in Mechanical Engineering. He received his law degree from the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the University of Tennessee Law Review. He has represented a wide variety of defendants in federal white collar prosecutions and investigations. He has extensive civil jury trial experience in a wide variety of cases, including personal injury, business torts, computer and technology litigation and complex commercial transactions.
Phillip Hampton has over 25 years experience in the field of information technology and since 1995 has consulted with numerous law firms and government agencies in the areas of practice management systems, litigation technology, computer forensics, electronic data discovery and trial presentation technologies. Mr. Hampton receied his B.S. degree in computer science from Lambuth College and his M.S. Degree in computer science from Vanderbilt University. He has testified in state and federal court as an expert witness in computer forensics.

Donald Capparella secured at trial a multi-million dollar award for a widow and child who were wrongly denied insurance proceeds, which he upheld on appeal in the Tennessee Supreme Court in Morrison v. Allen. He also was lead trial counsel in a car accident case in Memphis, obtaining one of the largest jury verdicts that year in Tennessee, which was upheld on appeal in Monypeny v. Khiev. Some of the other seminal cases Mr. Capparella has been counsel in include serving as amicus counsel in McIntyre v. Balentine, which brought comparative fault to Tennessee, and as counsel in the case of Jordan v. Baptist Three River Hospital, that dramatically increased the damages available in wrongful death actions. He was appellate counsel in Fox v. Amazon, where the Sixth Circuit found Amazon potentially liable for a dangerous product sold on its website by a third party, the first such ruling of its kind. Mr. Capparella has also served as counsel in over 450 appeals in both state and federal court, and leads the trial and appellate team at Dodson, Parker, Behm and Capparella. He regularly assists trial practitioners at both the trial and appellate level, ranging from assisting in trial preparation, post-trial motions, and handling the entire appeal.-In 2016, he was elected to membership in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.Mr. Capparella is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations and the Tennessee Association of Justice. He has served as chair of the appellate practice committee of the Nashville Bar Association and was a barrister in the Nashville Chapter Harry Phillips American Inn of Court. Mr. Capparella has been recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as “Best of the Bar,” as one of Business TN magazine’s “150 Best Lawyers,” and he has been named a Mid-South Super Lawyer. He has an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.He also serves as the editor and contributing author for the Nashville Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Handbook. He is co-author of the Tennessee Law of Comparative Fault, published by Thomson Reuters. He has been an instructor of legal writing at Vanderbilt University School of Law and has taught advanced legal writing at the Nashville School of Law. For 25 years he served as an editor for the Tennessee Tort Law Letter, a monthly report of leading tort cases published by M. Jacob A. Vanzin joined Dodson Parker Behm & Capparella, P.C. in August 2022 after spending almost a decade in private practice as an attorney in Franklin, TN, the same town where he grew up. While in Franklin, Jacob litigated cases both large and small, where the amounts in dispute ranged from a few thousand dollars to over forty million dollars. He also was the principal author of the winning brief for two major appeals: Stange v. Roberts, M2019-01060-COA-R3-CV (Tenn. Ct. App. Apr. 9, 2020) and Walker v. Walker, M2018-01140-COA-R9-CV (Tenn. Ct. App. Jan. 31, 2020). Similarly, Jacob has represented criminal defendants facing charges ranging from public intoxication to first-degree murder.Jacob Vanzin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with his B.A. in History and Political Science, then went on to obtain his J.D., cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis. While at Washington University, Jacob was a National Quarterfinalist and 10th Place National Best Advocate in the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition. After law school, Jacob clerked for the Honorable Patricia L. Sandy Garrett is Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Sandy has been with the Board of Professional Responsibility since October, 1992. She serves as the Executive Director of Tennessee Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection and as the Southeast Regional Vice President of National Client Protection Organization. She earned her J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University. She is an emeritus member of the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court, a current member of the Tennessee Bar Association (TBA) Committee on Ethics, and an honorary TBA Young Lawyers Fellow.

Honorable Jeffrey Atherton presides over Part 2 of the Eleventh Judicial District of Hamilton County. Prior to ascending to the bench, he was an attorney with a general civil legal practice. Atherton has trial experience in federal and state courts and appellate experience in the Tennessee Court of Appeals, the Tennessee Supreme Court and the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Atherton earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1987 and has been a licensed attorney in Tennessee since 1988. His professional memberships include the Chattanooga Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Atherton has served as a TBA high school mock trial coach for more than 20 years, with his teams winning national championships in 2002, 2003 and 2007. A community-minded citizen, Atherton has served as deacon and commander of the AWANA Youth Ministry of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chattanooga and as a ministry board member of the Tennessee Valley AWANA Ministry. In recognition of his exemplary service, the CBA has awarded Atherton its Ralph H. Kelley Humanitarian Award. In addition, the Civil Air Patrol bestowed its Commander’s Award to Atherton. Atherton and his wife, Angie, married in 1982. They have four children: Paul, Hannah, Jeffrey and Stan. Honorable Robin Miller, Clerk & Master, was appointed Clerk and Master in July 2014 and took office September 8, 2014. She received both her undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Tennessee. Mrs. Miller worked for 20 years with the firm of Gearhiser, Peters in Chattanooga and the last 2 ? years before taking office with the firm of Spears, Moore, Rebman and Williams in Chattanooga. Prior to taking office, Mrs. Miller spent 22 years litigating estate and trust cases along with some domestic cases. As the Clerk and Master, Mrs. Miller supervises the clerks in the Clerk and Master Office and sits as a Master with many powers of a Chancellor. As a Master, Mrs. Miller may preside over any questions of law, including divorce or custody matters, land disputes, and estate litigation issues. Mrs. Miller is also frequently called upon as a judicial mediator, where she provides guidance to individuals who have previously mediated unsuccessfully or do not have the funds required to pay for a mediator. Mrs. Miller is married to Robert Bires, who has spent his career at the McCallie School as an English teacher and administrator. Mrs. Miller and Mr. Bires have two grown daughters, Kathleen, a social worker at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Nashville, and Emma, an associate wealth management advisor at Northwestern Mutual.
Rachael Kapperman, Esq. Staff Attorney, graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in May of 2016. Mrs. Kapperman began working at the Clerk & Master Office in September 2016 as Ms. Miller's judicial law clerk. She now serves as the Staff Attorney for the Clerk & Master Office, where she assists Ms. Miller with all legal matters, including attending hearings, writing Master's Reports, co-mediating, and assisting with procedural legal questions raised by attorneys and clerks. Mrs. Kapperman is married to her law school sweetheart, Cameron Kapperman, an associate in the business litigation section at Baker Donelson. Cameron and Rachael welcomed their first child, Jack Henry Kapperman, in October 2021. They also have one fur baby, an 18-year-old bichon named Sandy Hastings.
Anne Fricker Probate Mentoring Chief, graduated from UC in 1969 and shortly thereafter began working at Spears, Moore, Rebman and Williams for several years. It was at Spears Moore that she was involved in her first probate estate. After the birth of her first child and some time off, she went to work with John Y. Powers until he was appointed as Magistrate. After 23 years at Hatfield, Van Cleave doing a variety of thing, but mostly probate work, she came to work at the Clerk & Master’s Office in 1999. She spent a year working with the most famous Chief Deputy, Averilee Welch. Upon Averilee’s retirement she was appointed Chief Probate Deputy. She is married to Roy W. “Bud” Ragan, and she has 5 children and 3 grandchildren.
Michelle McGill Chief Probate Clerk, worked at Interchecks, Inc. a check printing company for nine years before coming to work at the Clerk & Master Office in January of 1993 as an equity deputy clerk. She then became the judicial deputy clerk for both Chancellor Van Owens and Chancellor Howell N. Peoples. She also served as Chancellor Jeffrey M. Atherton’s judicial deputy clerk. She moved to the probate department in 2016 and became the chief probate deputy in April of 2022. Mrs. McGill is married to Scot McGill, a union electrician, and have three grandchildren.

Honorable Tom Greenholtz was unanimously confirmed to the Court of Criminal Appeals – Eastern Section by the Tennessee General Assembly. Judge Tom Greenholtz first joined the bench in 2015 when he was appointed and then elected Criminal Court Judge for the 11th Judicial District, which is Hamilton County. He also presides over the Hamilton County Drug Recovery Court. Judge Greenholtz received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1996 and a J. D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville in 1999. Judge Greenholtz was a shareholder of the law firm Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel from 2006 until his judicial appointment in 2015. His professional experience also includes working as an arbitrator, an adjunct professor of political science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a law clerk for Tennessee Supreme Court Justice William M. Barker.
Lee Davis has taught Criminal and Constitutional law at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and previously taught trial practice as an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville. Lee Davis is recognized as a Fellow by the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, ABCL. Mr. Davis is a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, NACDL. He has published articles on DNA Technology and the death penalty. Lee Davis has lectured nationally as an instructor with the American Prosecutors Research Institute, Washington DC, APRI. Lee Davis received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and has attended the National Criminal Defense College, Macon, GA. Lee Davis teaches Continuing Legal Education courses for attorneys and paralegals, from ethics and white-collar federal criminal defense to emerging issues in Tennessee law.
